Ontario grower @barideout manages more than 400 acres of fruit at Manitree Fruit Farms. 🍎He explains that he stays attentive of where resistance is starting and is constantly on guard. Find fungicide resistance information here: ow.ly/UPqc50SSaT9\ #HearFromAGrower #CdnAg

@CBCDuck I’m listening to your discussion about Apples. Simple every apple has a slightly different Sugar and Acid content. Like a fine wine they finish on the palate differently for each person. Granny Smith isn’t a Canadian apple ugh!! So many better ones available 😂

Thank you again @ThornburyCraft, such great people, with so much passion and positive energy.🍎 We want #Ontario's 60 #cideries and our hundreds of #apple growers to thrive, create new jobs, attract new investments, and stimulate our growing #tourism sector!
Ontario Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness@AgricultureON

Ontario is investing up to $6M to help the province’s craft cideries reach more local consumers 🍎 Funding will be used to strengthen marketing activities that will position the sector for growth. Cheers to that! #loveONfood #OntAg news.ontario.ca/en/release/100… @ontarioapples

@TorontoStar Let me help you with some facts: Apples in Ontario are harvested in late August through to early November. The latest heat wave here in Ontario wouldn’t have been an issue. For harvest. Agriculture workers are protected by the same labour laws as all workers in Ontario.

Migrant farm workers demand protection from dangerous heat. Working in temperatures above 38 C in the recent heat dome caused health concerns, but a worker on an Ontario farm says they were afraid to disobey orders. trib.al/uQL8rQS

Yesterday, I met with representatives of Ontario’s agri-food industry to discuss the upcoming meeting with Canada’s Agriculture Ministers in July. As Ontario’s new Minister of Agriculture, Food & Agribusiness, I will ensure their voices are heard at the national level. #ontag

1st open Nectarine flower of the season. This is outside in a very weather battered orchard. These rows are particularly open.

Apples are a passion. They test everything. Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Psychology and Love. I’ve been testing new products this season for Crop Load Management, Biological Control of disease & pests. Thank you to the scientists that developed these products. @ontarioapples
