Society whatsapp groups are the worst English that'll make Shakespeare turn in his grave Quarrels can start at any moment Random pics that make no sense And forwards that make you think "what is this person trying to communicate" Sometimes I wish we were back on GSM phones

So the fellow scratches my car with a key, bangs on the window glass with his fist, throws water onto the passenger seat as I roll down the window to talk to him. Just because I parked outside his house, on the road, for 10 mins to pick my daughter from school. #noida

WhatsApp uncles are busy spamming groups with messages like these. They all want us to want #UniformCivilCode Ask them for their stand on same sex marriage & the narrative collapses.

This is an important notice from the #Delhi Medical Council. The truth is, this is hardly followed. All you have to do is scan websites of hospitals to check if qualifications match the position. Even better- just Google best endocrinologists in Delhi or best urologists or any other superspeciality and several names thrown up are not qualified. This has been a sore point with some of us who have been fighting a losing battle in this regard. Because it turns personal and is about colleagues, one backs off. But it IS true that a large number of doctors who are not trained superspecialists call themselves as such. It's happening here. In Delhi itself. Routinely. Unless action is taken, nothing will change.

Cabinet of Horrors These shelves hold memories for me: Memories of mistakes. Memories of misinformation. Memories of real people. Memories of families. These shelves hold real memories for me: Of people who we lost fighting for. Of people who left their families behind. Of people who were misled on healthcare. Of people whom we gave a new lease of life through liver transplants. These shelves make me sad: For families who move on without a father, mother, son, daughter, brother or sister. For families who lost so much, money, mind and hope. For families who would keep coming to me because they did not know better. These shelves make me fight for medicine and science: Because the alternative medicine industry is the business of healthcare and not the art of patient care. Because these were people who should have been alive even now, spending time with their families. Because their deaths were avoidable. Because their loss is unrepairable. These shelves make me fight for what is right: Because people deserve everything good in healthcare. Because no abuse, harassment or trolling would ever surpass the real heartbreak I have shared with these patients and their families. These shelves make me fight for my patients, the public and their healthy future through the power of medical education and the beauty of science: Because the people and families getting affected by "avoidable" alternative medicine related liver injury, liver failure and death is REAL. Abuse me. Troll me. Harrass me. Give me death threats. Mock me. Doxx me. But, expect me.

India set to be the only country in the world where citizens pay advance taxes to the Government for the privilege of `credit' card (international) transactions, to the tune of 20%

1/2 Do you know why it is very difficult to for scientific temperament to progress in India? Single answer: Print News Media. A senior reporter wanted to highlight outcomes related to promotion of unscientific practices in Ayush based on my work, in early Feb 2022. Today morning he sent me an email stating he had published the report on his "blog" because the news editor did not want to go ahead with it. The editor was from Kerala and an Ayush sympathizer & "experts" he asked advice from were probably Ayush practitioners. Footnote of the article reads: //"Note: The article, originally written in Feb 2022, was intended for a news publication. Editor “referred this article to some scientist friends because I thought one study may not be enough to call entire systems of medicine pseudoscience. They are still to respond.” I withdrew my submission. Editor responded: “Sorry this happened. But, the experts did not get back. And the article read more like an opinion piece based on a study by a practitioner, not on rigorous research. Hope you understand.” "Now I have decided to self-publish this polemic in recognition of the impact of Dr. Cyriac‘s relentless pursuit of quality medical science. I can proudly say the piece was so timely and prescient. But it is the Indian news media, incompetence galore."// If the Editor or the experts did not realize, there was not one study, but many. I am the only "practitioner" who does research on Ayush-liver injuries for public health because the others dont want to do it, even if they can. Scientific temperament in the community will not progress unless the mainstream news media in India stops whoring with alternative medicine industry. You can read the full report here: "𝐀𝐧 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐝𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐝𝐨𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞."
