@ryancbriggs Even the very top journals (Nature, Science) triage submissions by author affliation. Or at least that is the most benign explanation for why they fail to use double-blinding.

Prediction: in the short-to-medium term LLMs will make the reputation of the researcher matter more for whether or not we view results as credible because it will become too hard to read everything and people will want shortcuts for filtering. Again, this hits juniors hardest.

Need new norms of communication around this too. Hard to adequately and politely communicate when output is “not even wrong,” and time-consuming to find errors (if the text is even clear enough to allow this). Tempting to just say “it’s slop, I’m afraid”…
