As a Japanese person, I’ve waited for AC to adapt a Japanese story, so I can play an epic story of a SAMURAI in Japan. Now, we don’t get a samurai but a forced diversity character that’s not a samurai, OR Japanese.
For context; the real historical Yasuke met Nobunaga for a year, then was sold back to the Jesuits and never obtained a rank as a samurai.

Are you saying the fine was for repeating accurate government statistics?
Was there anything inaccurate in what she said?

Firstly, let's get the conspiracy stuff outta the way for those that aren't caught up with the latest Google lore:
In August 2022, Google announced the launch of their first 'Helpful Content Update'
Along with generically named 'Core Updates', Google has released a few similar updates over the last couple of years - all with the apparent aim of making sure all content is helpful and based on first-hand research + expertise
The real world effect of this has resulted in a huge number of small, independent publishers being obliterated from the web: retrododo.com/google-is-kill…
This is because, nowadays, just 16 large media companies dominate Google results: detailed.com/google-control/
...even though their articles are questionable at best, and demonstratably not based on first-hand research or expertise: housefresh.com/david-vs-digit…
And, of course, the fact Google is paying these large publishers five-figures (plus "the means to produce content at no cost") to help train their AI is just a coincidence: adweek.com/media/google-p…
However, despite the dominance of big media within search results, it's one site - Reddit - that has benefited more than any other (by far): x.com/lilyraynyc/sta…
And the fact Google is paying Reddit $60m per year for more AI training data is just another coincidence: theverge.com/2024/2/22/2408…
And that Reddit deal was announced exactly 4 weeks before Reddit IPO'd for a valuation of $6.4bn. Coincidence!
None of this stuff is relevant, let's move on.

Incredible that @MistralAI just raised $400M~ on a $2B post-money valuation in this market with a purely open source product (so far), no revenue and < 30 employees. Well done!
