OUT OF THE WOODS went straight to the front and never looked back, going wire-to-wire in a stacked allowance on the biggest stage in racing. Sent off at 12-1, “Woodsy” showed heart, grit, and pure fight, turning back a wall of challengers in the stretch to get it done. A career-best performance. A 93 Beyer. And a moment none of us will ever forget. Huge credit to trainer @PhilDamato11 and his team for the incredible turnaround, and a masterclass ride from @ljlmvel, putting him on the lead, controlling the tempo, and digging deep when it mattered most. But this one… this one is for the partners. The celebrations, the photos, the goosebumps in that @ChurchillDowns winner’s circle on @KentuckyDerby Day… it doesn’t get better than this. CARMA Opens 2026 Howard “Howie” Zucker Grant Program Applications for Thoroughbred Aftercare Organizations CARMA is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 Howard “Howie” Zucker Grant Program, which provides funding to nonprofit aftercare organizations dedicated to the care, retraining, rehabilitation, and rehoming of retired California-raced Thoroughbreds. As CARMA enters its 18th year of service to California racing and Thoroughbred aftercare, the organization has successfully placed more than 500 Thoroughbreds through its Placement Program and awarded more than $6.8 million in grants to approved aftercare organizations. TVG / @FanDuel_Racing TV has long been a constant in so many lives, including ours. TVG edited together our BTS home videos of SINGLETARY winning the 2004 @BreedersCup Mile into a 15 minute package. With no reality TV yet nor much TVG "original” content, TVG ran this package practically every day…for a year. It told our little story and so many others like it over the years. Horse racing is a sport built on great stories.
