I think daeron with a dragon would be hilarious because I think if dragons were already around he’d love to have one but he would 100% not want to be the first one to have a dragon after the dance because that’s too much responsibility for him

@thorlokid @targcestkiddo Maekar and valarr end up bonding over the fact that they’re both jealous of daeron being besties with Baelor and being the only one to make him laugh so loudly and carefreely

i like the idea that baelor & daeron get on extremely well & have plenty of in jokes and references forged through the bond of the ones in closest proximity to maekar (helped by daeron's age), while if maekar and valarr are alone together it's the most stilted, awkward small talk

@shoytebag Daeron would be actively trying to avoid her and she’s just following him everywhere like an eager puppy. It gets to the point where he’s literally running away and she’s leisurely strolling after him waiting for when he inevitably gives up and accepts his fate

if dragons never died out but the Maekarling eggs still didn't hatch, then I don't think Daeron ever intentionally sets out to claim a dragon. That was entirely the dragon's idea, she claimed him, she just decided she wanted him and chased him down one day
