#RDC : Washington dément financer la Garde minière annoncée par Kinshasa L’ambassade des États-Unis à Kinshasa a démenti tout financement américain de la future Garde minière congolaise, vingt-quatre heures après le communiqué de l’Inspection générale des mines (IGM) annonçant la création de cette unité paramilitaire de 20 000 agents pour un budget de 100 millions USD. « Le gouvernement des États-Unis ne finance actuellement aucune unité de patrouille ou de garde des mines en RDC », précise Washington dans une note publiée ce mardi. La représentation diplomatique américaine rappelle néanmoins que les deux gouvernements restent engagés à promouvoir « une croissance économique partagée, la stabilité et la prospérité » à travers l’Accord de partenariat stratégique États-Unis–RDC, présenté comme « le fondement de la stabilité à long terme ». Lundi 27 avril, l’IGM avait annoncé la création de cette Garde minière, présentée comme financée à hauteur de 100 millions USD « dans le cadre de partenariats stratégiques avec les États-Unis et les Émirats arabes unis ».
