Two birthday boys. Tom is 205, and I, slightly less but catching up today. It is so nice to see tourists lining up to take their pic with Tom, and reading about his life on the pathway to his sculpture. That was 100% the vision of the statue committee and I am delighted with how well it has been received.

Cart riders in America always tell me how slow walking golf is. I’ve played 13 walking rounds in the last 10 days in the Netherlands and Scotland. Longest round: 4:10. That’s the only round that was over 4 hours. Most closer to 3:30. Modern American golf is slow by design and exacerbated by bad policy, selfish players, and poor course layout.

The beauty and pain of the Old Course at St. Andrews! Watching some elite amateurs come through 18. Amazing how flummoxed these guys are getting. Unwilling to just be 20 feet past the hole, they go for the pin. 30 yard pitches proving devilish! My favorite place on earth.
