Hey @SGgrc a thought on wiping disks advice - I've been encrypting disks with a strong passphrase that might contain stuff I want to keep private from the start. I figure this protects me not only when I'm done with the disk but also if it gets lost or stolen and I can't wipe

@SGgrc Another thought on SN941 and HTTP vs. HTTPS - could features like Firefox https-only mode help? support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/https… At least then it's a one-off decision to set your security position, option to switch to private and a reminder in the moment that you thought HTTP was bad idea

@neuracache hey is it possible to connect to a markdown file that's available over http? Thinking eg. file in a GitHub repo. Appreciate that may prohibit sync of metadata off device but I'd be fine with that

Today I asked a new cohort of about 30 ML PhD students to assume they were given these tasks by their employers and how they would respond. These questions raised heated debates 🔥🔥🔥 and the class went on way longer than anticipated

@walkingrandomly I would go for an ultra wide monitor on a desk - I had a 40" monitor and it was too high for all the space to be useful... contrast dropped away as I looked up and down too. Make sure screen resolution is right for you too, too low and feels like you have comedy fonts...

Any advice on desks + monitors for home working? Ideally I need something with enough space for up to two laptops, space for a paper notebook and as big an external monitor as I can afford. Drawers underneath a bonus.

Just realised why I keep getting Jupyter notebook keyboard shortcuts wrong. A adds cell above - B adds cell below. I keep thinking B for Before and A for After, so wrong way round 🤔🤦‍♂️

@SticksAndBr1cks Don't know if you need any more advice but my wife and I went straight to plant-based. We used @goustocooking to get us started, they have lots of vegan options to help get you started.

A question for any vegans- I’m thinking I want to go vegan, too many issues I can’t ignore and I want to feel healthier in myself. I’m wondering if I should transition to veggie then vegan or just go straight into vegan? What did you do?
