Announcing a new paper (with code) from the @VILaboratory "R-Sparse R-CNN: SAR Ship Detection Based on Background-Aware Sparse Learnable Proposals": doi.org/10.1109/JSTARS… @bristolcs

Jointly with @KarakusOktay, we introduced a robust Kalman filtering method, the RKFNet, which combines a heavy-tailed-based RKF with deep learning and hence eliminates the need for precise parameter estimation of heavy-tailed distributions encountered in tracking applications.

The third and final journal article issued from the work of our ex-PhD student, Pengcheng Hao (now with Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute), is now out. doi.org/10.1016/j.sigp… @VILaboratory @BristolUniEng @bristolcs

We also introduced a unique dataset comprising mouse OCT and confocal retinal images, facilitating the development of- and establishing a benchmark for- cross-modal image translation research doi.org/10.5523/bris.1…

Very proud of our ex-PhD student, Xin Tian, who soon after joining Oxford University as a postdoctoral researcher, got another part of her PhD thesis accepted as Research Article in Biological Imaging. - bit.ly/49IxWtl @VILaboratory @bristolcs @BristolUniEng

This marks the first attempt to exploit the inherent 3D information of OCT and translate it into the rich, detailed color domain of confocal microscopy.
