It’s been a while but for #FossilFriday, I’m so beyond happy to have received the @GeolSoc President’s Prize! ☺️ I’m so grateful to my nominators, my supervisors for guiding me, my friends for always supporting me. But most importantly for my family, this award is for them. ❤️

The High Plains are a region of the Western United States that lies east of the Colorado and Wyoming Rocky Mountains & extends into Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma & South Dakota. The terrain east of the Rocky Mountains is more elevated than similar landscapes around the world where plains butt up against mountains, like near the Himalayas in Asia & the Alps in Europe. A team of researchers at @CUBoulder recently examined the processes which contributed to the unique elevation of the High Plains. Finished up the first field season in Newfoundland today! 1) exploring the Cambro-Ordovician boundary at Green Point. 2) @nicole_mizrahi sponge lady with her sponge bioherm. 3) stromatolites on the Port au Port. 4) Ediacaran fossils at the Melrose surface on the Bonavista.
