Filipinos will need to change their lifestyles if global oil prices go up to $200 per barrel, Energy Secretary Sharon Garin said, as the idea no longer seemed far-fetched three weeks into the Middle East war. tinyurl.com/36ydsp59

🧌 TROLL FARM ALERT | West Philippine Sea This morning, SeaLight identified seven accounts with zero followers that posted coordinated anti-🇵🇭#Philippines, pro-🇨🇳#China propaganda on the #SouthChinaSea — all within the same 60-minute window. The accounts: @ClareM5340, @WrightYung31880, @KHicks70973, @AshenafiOt71310, @BRatleff61798, @KMonette66186, @rudy_dougl44289 Every account fits the troll farm profile: ❌ 0 followers, only 1–4 following ❌ Anglicized Western names with random number suffixes ❌ Stock or AI-generated profile photos of young women ❌ Coordinated amplification of pro-Beijing articles ❌ AI-generated propaganda images portraying the Philippines as a 🇺🇸US puppet destroying "regional peace" Their messaging follows the well-documented Chinese influence operations playbook targeting Filipino public opinion: frame Manila's lawful assertions in the West Philippine Sea as dangerous "provocations," portray the US alliance as a threat to Philippine sovereignty, and cast Beijing as the champion of peace and stability in the region. This is textbook Coordinated Inauthentic Behavior (CIB) — the same tactic documented repeatedly in Chinese state-linked campaigns targeting Philippine social media. The poor tradecraft (zero organic followers, obvious sock puppet names, synchronized posting) suggests either a low-budget operation or one that simply doesn't need to be sophisticated to be effective at flooding timelines.

from my own experience, we have to thank Sir Ronald Llamas and Atty.

𝗗𝗢𝗘𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗨𝗡 𝗔𝗟𝗪𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗘 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗔𝗠𝗘 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧? 🌅 Not exactly. The Sun doesn’t rise in the same exact position every day. As Earth travels around the Sun, the sunrise point slowly shifts along the horizon. This gradual movement is what leads to seasonal events like the #MarchEquinox. Countries like Canada and the Philippines, both in the Northern Hemisphere, follow the same seasonal pattern, experiencing the summer solstice in June and the winter solstice in December. In a striking year-long image series from Edmonton, Alberta, the changing sunrise positions are clearly visible month by month. The camera remains fixed facing due east, with north on the left and south on the right. The sequence begins in December 2020 at the top and ends in December 2021 at the bottom, capturing a full cycle of shifting sunrises. Although the Sun generally rises in the east, its exact position varies. During the December solstice, it rises farthest toward the southeast, producing the shortest days. By the June solstice, it rises farthest toward the northeast, giving us the longest days of the year. 📷 Luca Vanzella/NASA Read more: facebook.com/share/p/14Ss4V…

Idk abt you guys but the Philippines moved on quickly from the DPWH flood control scandal and every other corruption scandal before that. And somehow, I feel like media organizations could have done more to keep the conversation happening.

If this is all true, the more na hindi dapat ikulong mga rookie sa alas. Kung foreign coach na nga hirap maghabol ng bayad, paano pa players na wala masyado resources for a legal battle.
