I dug into the Chicago tech scene going back ~50 years. How many successful tech companies were founded here? Who is behind them? How much value have they generated? I struggled to find good data, so I did some research... Chicago Tech’s $100M List: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d…

Pretty insightful from Rolapp on CNBC this morning. Asked about his biggest downside surprise since taking the job and starts talking about the media rights market. Notes the U.S. market is at $30B and the NFL takes up $12, a number that likely will increase substantially in its new deal. Seems to be inferring the tour will be potentially getting less than its current $7B

More big moves for @tryramp in the sports world as the presenting sponsor of the World Baseball Classic Championship game. Putting the ~$1B they raised in 2025 to good use!
Jackson@bubjacks

Looks like @WeAreLegora's partnership with Ludvig Aberg is already paying off. They're getting a lot of airtime as Aberg leads The Players Championship on Sunday afternoon. Reminds me of @tryramp's deal with Neal Shipley just weeks prior to him winning Low Amateur honors at the 2024 Masters.

Looks like yes. Which is great, because we happen to have created the perfect bracket! I posted it on our new site: every-bracket.com/mens You'll have to scroll a bit to find it (or you can search for it in the "create" tab), but I promise it's on there! @HoopsForecast
Jeremy Frank@MLBRandomStats

Hypothetically, if someone posted the perfect bracket before the tournament but never entered it into a contest would they still get fame and fortune?

Big day for VC-backed PGA sponsors... @PaloAltoNtwks getting lots of airtime as a sponsor of Sudarshan Yellamaraju. He's a PGA Tour rookie who is currently tied for 5th in the Players Championship. He had the second best round in the field on Saturday (-6) on has the best round going on Sunday (-5) through 16 holes.

Nasdaq takes one step closer to tokenized stock trading with token launch. A few big things: - More control for issuers - Bridges on-chain and off chain markets - Partnering with Payward (Kraken)

A flurry of recent developments in RWA tokenization 🔥 - NYSE: Building a blockchain-native platform for 24/7 trading of tokenized equities and ETFs. Paired with ICE's investment in Polymarket, they seem to be all in on on-chain liquidity. - DTCC: beginning support for tokenization across its 1.4M securities, including instant settlement and 24/7 collateral movement - Figure: launches On-Chain Public Equity Network (OPEN) for direct tokenized listings & stock lending with Democratized Prime. OPEN allows companies to list their equity native on blockchain instead of a tokenized representation of a DTCC security. Bonus: - @RobinhoodApp and Kraken launched tokenized stock trading for EU customers in summer 2025. Over $10B has been traded on Kraken's xStock platform and Robinhood offers over 2,000 tokenized stocks and ETFs. Today, according to @RWA_xyz , the tokenized RWA market is ~$20B (assets directly on chain, not just represented on chain), growing over 5x in 2025 and 10x since 2024. Public equities represent ~4% of this at ~$860M. Figure's OPEN platform should increase that number dramatically.

New addition to the Chicago Tech $100M Club... @LetterAICo raised a $40M Series B led by @BatteryVentures. Chicago firm @lightbank led their Series A in 2025. Co-Founder & CEO Ali Akhtar went to UChicago and worked at McKinsey, Samsara, and P44 in Chicago prior to starting LetterAI. This addition grows the list to 152 tech companies founded in Chicago worth $100M+

"Baseball is different from any other sport, very different. For instance, in most sports you score points or goals; in baseball you score runs. In most sports the ball, or object, is put in play by the offensive team; in baseball the defensive team puts the ball in play, and only the defense is allowed to touch the ball. In fact, in baseball if an offensive player touches the ball intentionally, he’s out; sometimes unintentionally, he’s out. Also: in football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and all sports played with a ball, you score with the ball and in baseball the ball prevents you from scoring. Baseball is a nineteenth-century pastoral game. Football is a twentieth-century technological struggle. Baseball is played on a diamond, in a park. The baseball park! Football is played on a gridiron, in a stadium, sometimes called Soldier Field or War Memorial Stadium. Baseball begins in the spring, the season of new life. Football begins in the fall, when everything’s dying. In football you wear a helmet. In baseball you wear a cap. Football is concerned with downs – what down is it? Baseball is concerned with ups – who’s up? In football you receive a penalty. In baseball you make an error. In football the specialist comes in to kick. In baseball the specialist comes in to relieve somebody. Football has hitting, clipping, spearing, piling on, personal fouls, late hitting and unnecessary roughness. Baseball has the sacrifice. Football is played in any kind of weather: rain, snow, sleet, hail, fog… In baseball, if it rains, we don’t go out to play. Baseball has the seventh inning stretch. Football has the two minute warning. Baseball has no time limit: we don’t know when it’s gonna end – might have extra innings. Football is rigidly timed, and it will end even if we’ve got to go to sudden death. In baseball, during the game in the stands, there’s kind of a picnic feeling; emotions may run high or low, but there’s not too much unpleasantness. In football, during the game in the stands, you can be sure that at least twenty-seven times you’re capable of taking the life of a fellow human being. And finally, the objectives of the two games are completely different: In football the object is for the quarterback, also known as the field general, to be on target with his aerial assault, riddling the defense by hitting his receivers with deadly accuracy in spite of the blitz, even if he has to use shotgun. With short bullet passes and long bombs, he marches his troops into enemy territory, balancing this aerial assault with a sustained ground attack that punches holes in the forward wall of the enemy’s defensive line. In baseball the object is to go home! And to be safe! – I hope I’ll be safe at home! George Carlin. With his daughter Kelly.

Baty & Alvarez 2026 All Stars Fundies
One of the coolest visualizations I've ever seen-- the evolution of the MLB strike zone from 2007 to 2025. The zone has changed dramatically-- going from vibes to nearly matching the rulebook definition perfectly. They're remarkably good. reddit.com/r/baseball/com…
