Every kid has a right to play, but you can’t look at the current landscape of charter schools playing at lower classifications and tell me that it’s “equitable”. VERY soon the NCHSAA State Championships are going to be charter/parochial school invitationals.

This is inexcusable on the part of the @nchsaa. @HighSchoolOT will have the 🏈 brackets for all 8 classifications up by midnight, Oct. 31. To hear NCHSAA leadership essentially say, we may not have time to get to it until Monday is inexcusable. Football coaches pour 80+ hours a week into teaching and coaching during the season. We spend all weekend, every weekend preparing for the following week’s opponent to give our teams the best chance possible to win. The NCHSAA now expects us to prepare for a first round PLAYOFF game on Monday morning while teaching classes. 🤯🤯🤯 Let’s come up with a solution not an excuse. That’s a lesson we challenge our players with on a regular basis. Honest question…Has anyone making these decisions ever coached a high school football game or prepared for a high school football playoff game? If so, they’ll have those playoff brackets complete by Saturday afternoon.
