Pre Columbian Basalt Sculpture of a Homosexual Copulating Couple (1000-1500 CE) - Costa Rica 🇨🇷 This unusual Costa Rican sculpture is of two naked males wearing flat headdresses engaging in a homosexual activity. Carved of basalt stone, the sculpture is highly stylized and created in a simple, minimal manner. The larger man stands behind, with his hands firmly holding the shoulders of the smaller man. Such pose generates the feeling of tension, more of a power play between the men than the sexual connotation. Although such scene of homosexual activity may have a certain connotation for people today, the people of Ancient Costa Rica had a quite different interpretation. Wearing little clothing was a symbol of high class for Ancient Costa Ricans because only people who worked in the fields had to wear clothing to protect their sensitive areas such as the genital area. Costa Ricans also considered sex as the unpredictable force, which often leads to tension and destruction. Thus, sex was naturally analogized with beings of aggressive power, such as human males who were often warriors, the fighting force in their culture. Moreover, such activity had a ritualistic significance. During ceremonies, a strong, masculine warrior engaged in the sexual act with another warrior of lesser power to transfer his strength and virility. The basalt sculpture, then, embodies more conception and symbolism than just sex itself. Looking at this sculpture, we realize that symbolism can be interpreted in a myriad of ways depending on the culture and context in question. It behooves us to look below the surface to understand the intricacies of symbol systems and their use within a given culture during a given period. This is why I say money isn’t real after the first billion.
There’s no way he “made” $650 Billion in one year. These are just inflated valuations in my opinion. All he has to do is make promises to lead the Mars race and the SpaceX stocks shoot up—he does the same thing for his other companies.
If you see how much his companies are making vs their valuations—the difference is mind-blowing 😂
He just knows how to persuade the right people. He was able to back it up if you look at Tesla’s growth in the electric car industry as well as the SpaceX rockets he launched. If he was able to deliver in the past, he can make any future claim and the valuations will shoot up again.
His net worth will reach $2 Trillion within 2-3 years from now. Does that mean he “made” another trillion? Probably not. It just means that he’s convinced enough people about his vision.

My manager kept “forgetting” my overtime. Three weeks in a row.
Every Friday I’d clock 47 hours. Every Monday my paycheck showed 40.
I asked HR. They said: “Talk to your manager first.”
I emailed him: “My timecard shows 7 hours OT missing. Can you fix it?”
He replied: “System must’ve glitched. If it’s not approved, you didn’t work it.”
I didn’t fight him.
Because the district manager said: “He’s been here 15 years. He doesn’t make mistakes.”
So I started taking a photo of the timeclock every time I clocked out.
Next Friday, I clocked out at 6:32 p.m. — 7.5 hours OT for the week.
Took a photo. Time, date, my name, all visible. Then went home.
Monday morning, paycheck still said 40 hours.
I checked the system. My clock-out had been edited to 4:00 p.m.
Edit log showed: “Approved by: J. Matthews” at 8:14 a.m.
I saved screenshots, emailed them to myself, printed two copies, then asked HR for a meeting. No anger. Just put the folder on the desk.
Turns out he’d been shaving hours off anyone who “questioned policy.”
I was just the first one who kept receipts.
He got written up + I got backpay for 22.5 hours.
And somehow…
I’m the one coworkers avoid in the break room.
Apparently, proving you worked is “not being a team player.”
But stealing wages?
That was just “a misunderstanding.”
