@Momto2_Cats @Chris_R_Welty @FOX8NOLA Yes. Every child is unique, but missing children with severe autism often wander/elope and seek out bodies of water. It’s not fully understood why. Children with autism are 160 times as likely to drown as the general pediatric population.

Pearson warns the outcome of a case ultimately falls on the person who took the children … while it can be hard to deal with a tragic outcome, Pearson says it is only natural to look for somewhere to place blame. She says sometimes that can fall on systems like #AMBERAlert.

@ballsstrikes The decision reversed in part, vacated in part, and remanded. The Court said the 2021 law could not be retroactively applied “despite the sickening and despicable factual allegations.” The case now rests on the doctrine of contra non valentem, which could be a stronger argument.
