Believing every word of the Bible comes directly from the mouth of God leads to a crummy understanding of the Bible and a crummy understanding God.

Every day I watch the chaos in this country and think about how many people got it completely wrong on Joe Biden, especially Democrats and the media. Democrats turned on him and bought into a manufactured narrative, while the press trashed stability, mocked experience, and helped normalize a convicted felon… and now act like none of it happened. A lot of people owe him an apology. Anyone else feel this anger? 🤷

@BillMelugin_ Elect democrats for decades, get a failing school system, an unsafe city, homelessness on the rise and a budget shortfall.

@JoshYohe_PGH @Blitz_Burgh He's ruined what people will think of him in a decade. He had better win a playoff game at least at some point. He's likely to be completely forgotten.

@JamesAFurey No organization has harmed America more than American Federation of Teachers. Not the teachers. Their union.

Teachers have simultaneously: A) been stripped of the ability to do anything about poorly behaved students B) been pressured to pass students no matter what C) been tasks with taking on more and more responsibilities that used to belong to parents D) been vilified and blamed for every problem in society. So…why the job dissatisfaction? It’s a mystery!
Steve Magness@stevemagness

In 2008, 62% of teachers said they were very satisfied with their job. In 2022, that dropped to 12%. We've got a serious problem brewing in education...

@SketchesbyBoze It’s not the screens. It’s the democrat parents with no discipline, participation trophies and “speak your truth” nonsense turning out bad kids.

Every teacher I know personally is leaving the profession because students have become unteachable. They don’t read, they don’t talk to each other, they have no curiosity, no passion, no interest in learning. Giving kids unfettered access to screens has ruined a generation.

My summary of where we are: 1. Iran knows it can hurt the US more by selectively shutting off the flow of goods through the Strait of Hormuz than the US can hurt it through aerial attacks. 2. Iran has therefore created what has been termed a "kill box" that enables them to easily destroy any military vessels entering the strait. 3. Knowing this, instead of risking its own ships, the US tried to bully its "allies" into risking their ships and the lives of their servicemen in order to create a military presence in the strait. 4. This would with absolute certainty have led to the mass death of Japanese, German, Australian, UK, Canadian, et al. soldiers and the 100% loss of "allied" military vessels. 5. So everyone said "no."

Secretary Hegseth needs to explain exactly what he meant when he said “no quarter." It's well established that it means to take no prisoners — to kill them instead of accept their surrender. That is illegal under U.S. and international law, would put our servicemembers at greater risk, and erodes the good order and discipline of the best military in the world. My letter to the Secretary of Defense:

The U.S. just hit a $1 trillion deficit in 5 months. Government spending hit an all-time high, with $425 billion in interest payments alone. We're collecting record revenue and still can't pay our bills. America doesn't have a tax problem. It has a spending problem.

@KenGardner11 @neoavatara 100%. It’s why all SAAS companies sell to the quarter so hard. This would be an improvement. But in the short term might disguise what’s about to happen in SAAS and vaporware tech companies

I LOVE this idea. The quarterly earnings expectations game is arguably the stupidest thing that happens on Wall Street. It encourages and rewards earnings manipulation and short term thinking by corporate management. Quarterly reporting often misleads investors.
Annmarie Hordern@annmarie

WSJ: The Securities and Exchange Commission is preparing a proposal to eliminate the quarterly earnings report requirement and instead give companies the option to share results twice a year, according to people familiar with the matter.
