If you think that data centers are going to be flexible grid resources in the long term - I would argue that data and processing cycles are more valuable than energy - the amount to pay them to "turn down" is only going up - I would not count on this resource in the long term.

The winners, both on the demand side and the supply side, will: 1) Help alleviate the grid's stress, or 2) Adapt to it by offering scalable, differentiated siting, flexible operation, etc., or 3) Avoid the grid altogether

I'm 100% convinced that: 1) We're headed into a multi-decade electrification binge across a range of sectors from fuels to industry to HVAC 2) The grid is going to be challenged as a result. Reliability + siting + transmission + cost constraints will be a problem.
