People ask why I teach. These 2 photos are my answer. College students give me hope. Good thing, cause there's so much work still to do.

@MilesPerHoward Meanwhile, the rest of us couldn't even afford the sandwich before, never mind after! Honestly, a dystopian novel couldn't plot things this bleak.

@MilesPerHoward I am trying to figure out why this tweet bugs me. I guess because if we can't convince people based on the wanton human devastation this is wreaking ... it seems like probably a sandwich won't change their mind??

@pehenne Wild, right? Also, doesn't early March feel like 3 years and several decades ago??

Highly encourage everyone to put a small sticky note over the video feed of themselves. Makes a huge difference!

@mvrk0s My four-year-old absentmindedly sang "bam bam bam" tonight while playing, and I never thought that hearing my son sing Sweet Caroline in April, a few miles from Fenway, could make me feel so devastated. Hard to imagine being there again with them. :(

All 6 may be true ... but strange not to consider how effects--public health and otherwise--of a(nother, bigger) surge as a result of re-opening would impact public opinion, social movements, and voting. 🤷‍♀️🤔

All I can say about this is the definition of "complete jerk" must be regionally specific. Because I would classify this email as "a little cranky, understandably." Which is also how I would classify this tweet. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@MikeLynch09 Could not agree more. As I'm sorting through email while bathing my children. In a week in which my 7-year-old has made an appearance in nearly all of my advising sessions. The advice in this piece is wrong-headed and inhumane and frankly ignorant. 🤷🏼‍♀️

This piece is concerning for many reasons. Now is the time to show our students (and colleagues) we’re human and recognize this situation is difficult. Extend kindness. Show compassion. #HigherEd insidehighered.com/advice/2020/04…

When you've had 12 advising appointments in 2 days, it's the 3rd to last week of the semester, & 4- & 7-year old are home w/you, you might dump defrosted container of tomato sauce on leftover pasta. Then realize it's pumpkin. And just eat it anyway. 🤷‍♀️😂🙄
