Solution: We've taken steps to improve the reliability of all Drand nodes. If a similar error occurs in the future, the node will auto-restart and recover. We've also improved our outage notification capabilities to help us more quickly respond to any issues.

Root cause: the forward proxy that handles our SSL, @traefik, died suddenly and silently.

One of our three Drand nodes (drand-c.chainpoint.org) experienced an outage over the weekend. The other two Drand nodes continued to function normally.

On July 9th, 2020 Chainpoint became the first live system to utilize drand, when the NIST Randomness Beacon was replaced with drand in Chainpoint proofs. medium.com/tierion/tierio…

Consensus 2019 saw the first public presentation of Chaincheck and the upcoming Chainpoint plug-in for Hyperledger Fabric.

Apparently one of the hackathon entries from Ethereal used Chainpoint! We’ll post the code when it’s available on Github.

We've been working on a Chainpoint plugin for Hyperledger Fabric. The plugin anchors the Fabric blockchain to Bitcoin, which greatly improves the immutability and security of data in a Fabric network.
