Picked up some light hearted card games with wifey to get our board game collection started. Cooking some really spicy fried udon noodles, then couple game night in the evening. Excellent way to kickstart the Holiday week.
One more thing I love in London. Big city, but you really don’t need to go far for a small town vibe. Every part of it seems just a little bit different.
@GaborPfalzer Yes I had a hard time too! And still do often.
But when it’s hard to understand it’s like a compass pointing me to the areas where I need to improve my knowledge.
I like the idea of using it as a way to share knowledge and bounce ideas, thanks!
@charlesdev7 I had a pretty tough time looking at PRs early on, especially for more experienced people, but much easier since I changed my vantage point.
I mainly look at it as a way of sharing knowledge, and bounce some ideas, that can improve things. Cool exercise.
I learn a LOT by reviewing other people’s PRs.
The better I become the more time I have to review peoples PRs.
The more PRs I review the faster I become in my own work leaving me more time to look at others PRs.
It’s a positive feedback loop!
As I get better at my job I’m being given more tasks that don’t involve coding, for example research.
Not sure how I feel about that, I like coding all day 🤓
@charlesdev7 If I were you if your react is ok focus on typescript(Matt Pocok as great free course on TS and React) and next.js The most important part though will be building relationships with your peers.
@charlesdev7 For UX/UI, Refactoring UI.
I'd focus more on building relationships the first three months.
Review git if you aren't good at it before the job stars.
