Something important just happened that everyone following Eunwoo's case needs to know about. The Korean government announced an emergency budget to deal with the US-Iran war situation. To fund it, they listed ongoing tax cases as revenue sources and Cha Eunwoo's case is explicitly named as one of them. This is a problem because his case is still being reviewed. Nothing has been finalized. But the government is already counting his tax assessment as money they will collect. This puts enormous pressure on the people reviewing his case because if they reduce or reverse it, the government has a hole in their emergency budget. They can still follow the normal process and accept his pre-assessment review. That option is not off the table. But it is significantly harder now. The people making that decision are no longer just tax officials doing their job. They are operating under political and fiscal pressure that has nothing to do with whether his case is actually valid. I hope his legal team at Sejong almost certainly anticipated something like this and are preparing accordingly. His case stopped being just about taxes a long time ago. Today just made it official. #차은우 #ChaEunwoo

I really need EVERYONE to understand what's going on here. This affects ALL Korean celebrities, including actors and K-pop idols. THIS ISN'T JUST A CHA EUNWOO FAN ISSUE! Right-wing South Korean politicians are using Cha Eunwoo's situation, and invoking KEMA, to overstep the KMF's call for tax reform on an unregulated system. The South Korean Government does NOT want this fixed because then they would lose the ability to incorrectly frame Celebrities as tax evaders to create a scandal to cover up their own Government's scandals. Entertainment Agencies also do NOT want this fixed because they want to maintain control over celebrities. Let me explain: 1. It is totally normal for artists to open 1-person agencies for their solo careers. Most A-list Hallyu actors and idols have them to protect their personal brand so their signed agency doesn't have full control over them. This is a system used in most countries. But the National Tax Service (NTS) refuses to write clear tax rules for 1-person agencies in South Korea. Instead, the NTS waits years, secretly makes up new rules depending on who they are auditing, and slaps celebs with massive tax bills based on rules that never existed. Entertainment agencies LOVE this because the constant threat of a random tax evasion scandal makes opening a 1-person agency terrifying, keeping top stars trapped in their original contracts. 2. NTS literally get a 10% performance bonus for the money they collect. So, they secretly leak the celeb's name and amount to the press to trigger a massive public witch hunt, even though IT IS ILLEGAL TO LEAK THIS INFO. The celeb is forced to pay the insane fine just to save their careers, and the NTS secures their payout. Meanwhile, the celeb's entertainment agency sits back and lets the media tear the star apart, even using their own resources to increase media output, using the crisis to remind the celeb how much they "need" the agency's PR protection. 3. The KMF (who protects idols and managers) has been begging the government to just write clear tax laws so artists can operate safely. But the government is instead using KEMA (who protect traditional entertainment agencies) to block reform. KEMA wants independent 1-person agencies to fail so that stars are forced to stay trapped. If this is all true, then why are they not being called out? THEY ARE!! But the Government and Entertainment companies control the media, and GP do not pay attention to the niche financial media outlets and journals that the articles are being written in. The articles are there, they are just being IGNORED. Search "tax" in @ChaEunwooINTL and they are ALL There, translated, with sources. The government and Ent agencies keep this tax system unregulated on purpose. The second a political or agency scandal happens, they just drop a "celeb tax evasion" headline. The media attacks them, the public gets distracted, and the government quietly handles their scandal. Entertainment agencies support this system because then they get to maintain control of their celebs by helping create scandals privately, and then later "fix" their public image making the celeb reliant on them. 1-person agencies also threaten their business because they do NOT want celebrities to have more control than them. Cha Eunwoo is being USED by FANTAGIO to cover up their own, and Namgoong Kyun's, tax scandal, and by the GOVERNMENT to submit a bill to be able to OFFICIALLY label celebs as tax evaders to punish them harder and UNJUSTLY. The ONLY reason this issue is ongoing is because Cha Eunwoo is FIGHTING it, while his agency and the GOVERNMENT are using his fame to push more control over ALL CELEBRITIES. The fact that Cha Eunwoo is fighting it isn't being reported on BECAUSE ENTERTAINMENT AGENCIES AND THE GOVT CONTROL THE MEDIA!!!! They do NOT want Eunwoo's side clarified. I need EVERYONE to wake up!!!

"ChaEunWoo Prevention Act" is being introduced in the National Assembly as a result of the recent controversies surrounding the one-man agency, asking for a reexamination of the entertainment industry's overall management system, to reduce the blind spot. Treating an entertainer's earnings as corporate revenue rather than personal income creates differences in the scope of allowable expenses and the tax rate structure. The boundary between legitimate tax savings and loopholes can be ambiguous, meaning lax management risks escalating into tax evasion controversies. Currently, the local governments are responsible for the registration, modification, and closure of ent. agencies. However, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (the primary authority) lacks a legal basis for centrally managing the status nationwide. This is why the criticism has persisted. The amendments mentioned: 1. Ent. agencies must report their registration & business status to the Ministry & local government for central management. 2. Disqualification/ban not only for sex offenders/child abuse, but also for those who are convicted of tax offences, and for all employees (incl. CEO) within the agency. However, some have expressed concerns that this could restrict freedom of career choice. There are also criticisms that it risks expanding individual celebrities' tax evasion issues into systemic problems for the entire industry. Attention is focused on whether this amendment will remain merely symbolic or lead to actual institutional improvements. m.entertain.naver.com/now/article/00… #KoreanUpdates VF
