before going into the season I genuinely did not think I'd care but I REALLY love his dynamic with the band 😭😭 it's sweet

@MaharetCompound And yes I was very interested in the monastery thing! I remember how anti religion he was in S1 bc of religious trauma, so I wanted to understand more. (I’m just a show watcher)

@chewymoons It’s not so much that I wanted other scenes (except they should have included how Lestat forgot how to read post-monastery and no one or Gabriella ever taught him again.) But they needed to stay longer on these beats, Lestat’s belief in his potential for goodness getting crushed

Oh my god—initial, raw reaction— I’m going to need to sit with this one!! The past timeline remix is crazy & jarring to me—focusing only on his & Gabriella’s relationship—then jumping through Lestat’s childhood, to the wolves, to turning her, without any else of his past—

@MaharetCompound Yeah I totally agree! It was too fast, we didn’t get to sit with it long enough to feel that emotional impact and connection to Lestat’s pain.

#tvlspoilers I don’t think people really understand how remarkable and different it is that Lestat actually surrounds himself with humans and is very comfortable being friends with them. He doesn’t purely view people as prey or food but actually does hang out with them

i'm really enjoying their dynamic there's something so sweet about the way lestat interacts with them. and even after learning he's a vampire, they still feel comfortable enough to bicker with him that's his circus and those are his monkeys...

Watching these first episodes you have to remember that these are bits of lestat's story that he wanted to share, edited and filtered by his lens, he DOESN'T want to actually dig in the past. The rushed pace is intentional. Lestat never want to give the proper weight to things he's been through, he is always moving foward. I'm in awe how his season is adapting so well how is lestat's phyche as a narrator, the constant pompous classical music in the backgroud cut through flashbacks of his past to the present. He doesn't want to revisit those memories. Next episode he is going to sit and eventually being interviewed and I bet the rhythm is going to slow down, because he is not gonna be the one conducting the story anymore.
