Beet Bili! Bili was likely poached from the wild as an infant, and he spent the first 30 years of his life first in a circus, and then in a zoo. After a complicated rescue mission, Bili was brought to live at the Wales Monkey & Ape Sanctuary with other rescued chimpanzees.

Say hello to Bouamir! Bouamir is a victim of the illegal wildlife trade, who was poached from the forests of Africa to be sold as a pet. She was confiscated while she was still young, and brought to live at Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue's sanctuary in Cameroon.

Today's chimpanzee is Porsche! Porsche is a rescued chimpanzee who lives at Chimp Haven in Louisiana, the largest chimpanzee sanctuary in the world. Chimp Haven is home to over 300 rescued chimpanzees divided up into smaller social groups. Porsche lives with ten other chimps.

Meet Léonie! Léonie was poached from the wild and sold between soldiers until authorities discovered her. She was taken from the soldier who owned her and was taken to the Chimpanzee Conservation Center in Guinea. She was in bad shape, but the sanctuary nursed her back to health.

Say hello to Tamu! Tamu was poached from the wild to be sold as a pet. The Sudanese military confiscated him, and after a stay at a safe house, Tamu was sent to the Chimp Eden sanctuary with other rescues. He was featured on Animal Planet's "Escape To Chimp Eden".

This is Bo! Bo was first used in the entertainment industry, then a breeding compound, and eventually landed in an exotics facility featured on Tiger King. The owner of the facility asked Center For Great Apes to give Bo and another chimp named Joe a new home several years ago.

Meet Ariah! Ariah is a rescued chimpanzee who lives at the Chimp Haven sanctuary in Louisiana, the largest chimpanzee sanctuary in the world. Ariah is a dramatic and feisty lady whose best friends are fellow rescues Tessa and Murphy.

Today's chimpanzee is Manni! Manni is another victim of the illegal wildlife trade. She was poached from the wild to be sold as a pet. Luckily for Manni, she was rescued by Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue in Cameroon. She lives with other rescued chimpanzees at the sanctuary.

Say hello to Kenya! Kenya was born at a chimpanzee breeding compound in Florida, and was taken from her mother only ours after being born. She lived at a wildlife park with other young chimpanzees, until she was moved to Center For Great Apes at age 5. She is now 30 years old!

We're back, with Ike! Ike was born into the biomedical research industry, where he was separated from his mother as an infant. He was eventually retired to the Primate Rescue Center sanctuary in Kentucky, along with some of the chimpanzees he grew up with in the laboratory.
