It’s easy to fall into the black pill loop of constantly feeding us the next hypocritical thing Trump is doing, like the iced caviar, but I think democrats need to equally highlight the good programs going on in this country.

One month after starting the war in Iran, this is the statement of the President of the United States on Easter Sunday. These are the ravings of a dangerous and mentally unbalanced individual. Congress has got to act NOW. End this war.

Let us allow ourselves to be transformed by the peace of Christ! Let us make heard the cry for peace that springs from our hearts! For this reason, I invite everyone to join me in a prayer vigil for peace that we will celebrate here in Saint Peter’s Square next Saturday, April 11. #Easter

On Easter morning, this is what President Trump posted. Everyone in his administration that claims to be a Christian needs to fall on their knees and beg forgiveness from God and stop worshipping the President and intervene in Trump’s madness. I know all of you and him and he has gone insane, and all of you are complicit. I’m not defending Iran but let’s be honest about all of this. The Strait is closed because the US and Israel started the unprovoked war against Iran based on the same nuclear lies they’ve been telling for decades, that any moment Iran would develop a nuclear weapon. You know who has nuclear weapons? Israel. They are more than capable of defending themselves without the US having to fight their wars, kill innocent people and children, and pay for it. Trump threatening to bomb power plants and bridges hurts the Iranian people, the very people Trump claimed he was freeing. On Easter, of all days, we as Christians should be reminded that the son of God died and rose from the grave so that we can be forgiven once and for all of our sins. Jesus commanded us to love one another and forgive one another. Even our enemies. Our President is not a Christian and his words and actions should not be supported by Christians. Christians in the administration should be pursuing peace. Urging the President to make peace. Not escalating war that is hurting people. This NOT what we promised the American people when they overwhelmingly voted in 2024, I know, I was there more than most. This is not making America great again, this is evil.

@ToddLJorgenson @surskitmaxxing @sister_slay It’s a promise that’s found in the OT that among other things was supposedly consumed in the sacrifice of Christ. Never mentioned in the NT about blessing or it being a law. I think community funding is good. Telling people they’ll get rich because of it- bad.

@Primary_Pianist I would say I have no faith or belief. Thanks. :) That scripture proves nothing btw. Many people don’t pay tithing and still are blessed beyond measure. Is that a mistake on gods account, or is it just not real and a way for greedy pastors to get money from their followers.

@AaronRHolloway1 So, if you go out of business that’s God telling you to give more money? Or that you’re unrighteous? I get you don’t see this for what it is, but what you’re talking about is a transactional tithe and that is prosperity gospel.

No its not. There is no promise that you personally will financially benefit. There is a promise that God will ensure you and your family are taken care of (through charity on the local level, or Gods direct intervention). If we as fathers and mothers can give good gifts, how greater can God give his children gifts?

@Ephraim_12K Did you not see the post I was quoting? It wasn’t I was starving and I was fed, she deliberately said that she gained more business after paying tithing. Thats prosperity gospel. The fact that ur defensive means that you know it’s wrong too.

@chron33 Catching a fish with coins in its mouth to pay your way is not prosperity gospel. There is difference having basic needs met and becoming wealthy. The gospel of Jesus Christ is faith and sacrifice. "believe Jesus lied and died and you are already saved" is the prosperity gospel

@beclundwll I think that’s wonderful! I’m all for community funded projects and programs. I do think there are a lot of Christian’s, including Mormons, who believe and preach prosperity gospel and it is completely antithetical to what Jesus preached.

@chron33 To be fair, the tithing messages are often transactional. But many of us pay our tithing because we love God and recognize he has already blessed us so much that we ought to share 10% and more. Even poor LDS think this way.

@Easthill4978 I agree with anything that says tithes are to fund churches and communities. What I think is bad to preach, and maybe the Q15 would agree is the idea that paying a tithe brings about riches. A lot of the testimonies rest on this teaching.

To “prosper” does not always equal being blessed financially. Sometimes it does, but oftentimes it means something else. In Alma 36:30, it says “that inasmuch as ye shall keep the commandments of God ye shall prosper in the land”. You might read that and think financial blessings. So then what are the consequence for not keeping the commandments? Is it financial dire straights? Debt? No. “Ye shall be cut off from His presence”. In this case, prosperity has nothing to do with money. In Alma 48:15 prosperity meant that they would more fully hear the voice of God and that He would “warn them to flee, or to prepare for war, according to their danger.” When prosperity does involve money, the Lord laments it because He knows having money rarely brings people closer to God. “We can see that [when] the Lord in his great infinite goodness doth bless and prosper those who put their trust in him…Then is the time that they do harden their hearts, and do forget the Lord their God, and do trample under their feet the Holy One—yea, and this because of their ease, and their exceedingly great prosperity.” (Helaman 12:1-2) Finally, Dallin H. Oaks warned about the idea of the prosperity gospel in April 2015 conference: “Those who believe in what has been called the theology of prosperity are suffering from the deceitfulness of riches. The possession of wealth or significant income is not a mark of heavenly favor, and their absence is not evidence of heavenly disfavor.”

@CodyTheSuperman Does it not concern you that this law you’re referring to is technically consumed in the blood of Christ much like animal sacrifices? I’m all for communities coming together and funding things. Why bring made up promises of riches into the mix?

Tithing is biblical. ——— Malachi 3: 8 & 9 8 ¶ Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be roomenough to receive it. ——— The point of tithing is to submit your will to God's, trusting he will bless you for your sacrifice. Being submissive to God is the only point, not the part where we do it to get a blessing.

@sister_slay Well, it’s all made up, but the Christ archetype of the beatitudes is polluted by these heretical teachings. Yall become hard hearted when Jesus says it’s impossible for a rich man to get to heaven, but as soon as the pastor says you can make money, suddenly ears wide open.

@chron33 Our Jesus is more fair than mainstream Christianity’s Jesus. So if our faith is transactional, at least our prizes are better. lol

bro has clearly never had to get his car towed before. 400 dollars sounds about right depending on the distance. Also, let’s say a bad actor gets a pic of his ID. They can now get his car? Like idk. I feel like this is the shit I’d say before college clueless about the world.

$441.84 is what I had to pay for the 11 minutes that it took the Utah Parking Authority to tow my car. This is inefficiency covering for fraud. Class action ASAP.
