Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) and Co-Signers (Multiple letters, notably December 22, 2023, to SEC Chair Gary Gensler and FINRA President Robert Cook) Norman led efforts with over 70 co-signers from Congress (reports cite around 74 members total across related letters). The letters highlighted constituent concerns, over 40,000 investor contacts, and demands for review of the halt and short-selling activity.
