@chunderboolt

I have opinions. I like cats, too. My opinions may be different from yours, and it's ok. That's what my ancestors fought for.

@PicturesFoIder If you watch the video, you'll see that the flames are decreasing. That means the pilot has successfully shut down the fuel supply to the engine and the fire isnt spreading. That means your chances are good.

The first time I abandoned a girlfriend in the mountains was an accident. We had an argument about something trivial, and she decided to go off on her own for a bit to cool down. I insisted she stick to the trail, but she said she didn’t need me mansplaining how to find her way in the woods. So I dropped it. How does one manage to get lost on a mountainside, anyway? You just walk downhill until you hit a switchback or reach the valley. Common sense stuff. Well, she managed it. When she didn’t turn up by nightfall, I contacted the ranger station and they set out to find her. By 1am, I got tired of waiting and drove home. They called the next morning to say they’d found her in a makeshift den she’d dug beneath a deadfall. She was naked, gone completely feral, her face painted with menstrual blood. A ranger tried to wrap a blanket around her shoulders, and she bit a golf ball-sized gobbet of flesh from his shoulder. So they sedated her and took her straight to the nearest hospital. That was three years ago and she still hasn’t recovered human language. Needless to say, I acquired a taste for it. I’m up to a baker’s dozen now, not counting the one that found her way back to the car before I could drive off. But you never forget your first. Sarah will always have a special place in my heart.

Every nation has its founding myths; few have been so thoroughly imprisoned and crushed by them. The Palestinian national imagination was not born, as its admirers suppose, from the organic memory of the Nakba, a dispossessed people finding its voice. But it was constructed in the late 1960s by a handful of poets and militants who fused revolutionary Marxism with romantic nationalism and produced something unprecedented: a people whose very identity was indistinguishable from the act of armed struggle. That this identity was forged in the white heat of genuine suffering does not make it less artificial; if anything, it makes the artifice more tragic, because the suffering was real and the framework imposed upon it was not. What follows is an attempt to trace how this happened — how Palestine ceased to be a place and became a Revolution, and how a Revolution, by its very nature, could never become a place. China’s solar power plant in Dunhuang uses around 12,000 mirrors to focus sunlight onto a central tower, heating molten salt to extreme temperatures. That heat is stored and used to generate electricity on demand, including after sunset.

ELON MUSK: SpaceX will build a mass driver on the moon. "If you want to go beyond a mere terawatt per year, you have to go to the moon. So by having factories on the moon, building AI satellites and having a mass driver, which is the kind of thing you really need to learn about in read about in science fiction, but we're going to make it real. We're actually going to have a mass driver on the moon. And if you do that, you can go several orders of magnitude greater. You can go to 1000 gigawatts or more per year, and ultimately get to maybe a millionth, and then a 1,000th and maybe even a few percent of the sun's energy. I really want to see the mass driver on the moon that is shooting AI satellites into deep space just go like just one after the other. I can't imagine anything more epic than a mass driver on the moon and a self sustaining city on the moon, and then going beyond the moon to Mars, going throughout our solar system, and ultimately, being out there among the stars and visiting all these star systems, maybe we'll meet aliens. Maybe we'll meet see some civilizations that lasted for millions of years, and we'll find the remnants of ancient alien civilizations. But the only way we're going to do that, do that, do that is if we go out there and we explore, and this is the path to making it happen."

Does this silly little man not understand that Islam is a very aggressive belief system, threatening death to anyone who does not convert to Islam The Buddhists, the Taoists, the Scottish Presbyterians, the Hindus and the Sikhs and the Confucians and the Catholics don't go around shouting about beheading people they disagree with Is this too much for your tiny little brain to take in ? Oh. The doorbell rang. The police I assume...

Indeed. Whenever Jews are attacked (typically by Muslims), it is important to redouble our efforts to fight against Islamophobia.

Ah yes, the latest innovation in Canadian justice: sentencing by sociology. As Jamie Sarkonak reports, Judge Faisal Mirza appears determined to refine the art of the “racial discount”—because nothing says equality before the law quite like a sliding scale of consequences based on identity. But I say: why stop there? Let’s modernize fully. Introduce a national Loyalty Program for Sentencing™. Points for hardship. Points for oppression. Double points if you qualify in multiple categories. Missed a birthday party at age six? Points. Difficult upbringing? Points. Non-white? Points. Indigenous? Bonus tier unlocked. Member of a statistically overrepresented group? Why not—points again. Accumulate enough, and perhaps you can redeem them. Shoplifting becomes free. Assault—half price. With sufficient lifetime accumulation, maybe even a felony wiped clean. After all, why burden courts with facts, evidence, or individual responsibility when we can replace them with a rewards card? This isn’t justice. It’s parody masquerading as principle—and it undermines public safety while congratulating itself for compassion. 🔗 Read Sarkonak’s piece. nationalpost.com/opinion/jamie-… #cdnpoli #Canada #Justice #RuleOfLaw #EqualJustice #PublicSafety #Sentencing #Courts #Law #IdentityPolitics @sarkonakj

I spent most of my career as a public servant because I truly believed in a rules-based order and trusted international law. Now I see how naive I was. It’s a fairy tale used to keep the colonies from revolting. In the end, nothing matters except who has more f*cking guns.
