So I finished placement yesterday and my degree as a whole and I’ve woken up incredibly emotional. These last few months have been HARD. But I’ve finally been able to prove to myself that I can do hard things and I really do feel proud of myself 🥹 #slt2be #sltatbcu

What is this strange phenomenon, arriving at placement at 7.50am in the sunshine!? #SLT2B

Negative assumptions about people with Down syndrome can become self-fulfilling prophecies. Try positive assumptions and maybe we can create more opportunities at school, in the workforce, in sports, and in social life. #AssumeICan #EndTheStereotypes #WDSD24

What jobs do teachers go into if they stop teaching? Seen a few people coming out of the classroom but don’t see too much about what they do next?

@abbystapleton_ I was, mild moderate too, especially high frequencies, so it makes a massive difference with those sounds, some of which affect grammar too. It definitely makes things quite a bit more difficult, work wise and socially too.

@clairieb im definitely considering hearing aids! it’s in the mild/moderate range but as you’ll know it makes everything a bit more difficult than it needs to be

I had an audiology appointment yesterday and was diagnosed with hearing loss, my past couple of years of questionable phonetic transcription suddenly makes a lot more sense 😅
