@aacierto @_narducci_ So personally i would steer away from older horns. I don't think there's any reason you can't get a great sound in a newer quality wooden horn if you put a lot of air into it regularly.

@aacierto @_narducci_ Just saw your FB post about this. You're getting good advice. Admittedly it's a bit my vibe anyway to go towards newer horns, but i would say that bass clarinets in particular have been much improved in the past few decades and are much more playable than the older horns.
