@Marcodmeatball The ending song Promise by @AkiraYamaoka has been stuck in my head for 23 years, unwittingly popping up whenever I question my feelings and morals. I feel like it is such a poignant encapsulation of the game that it works even without the game's context behind it.

I woke up at 5 am thinking about Silent hill 2 - started watching a playthrough of the original since I’m finishing up the remake and I’m left with this profound feeling that this game goes beyond the scares and the screams and the fear. This game is a profound achievement. I don’t know the ending yet but this is a game of a lifetime and I can understand why people were nervous to protect it. It seeps into your consciousness and it causes so much beautiful catharsis and pain? It’s a profound work of humanity. I’m sad I’ll be finishing it soon.
