WATCH THE VIDEO. LISTEN TO THE BASS. FEEL THE SPEED. 3,000 TPS is the new standard and we are the only ones doing it at @Nullshot_ai

Speaking at a @cursor_ai meet-up tomorrow. First time. Been using Cursor for 15 months. Strange to be the one doing the talking now. The talk is about multitasking in Cursor, how to run multiple things at once without losing the thread. Then 15 minutes to build as many features as I can, live, before the timer goes. One thing I'm curious about. The way you use a tool when nobody's watching is different from the way you use it in front of a room. The shortcuts you skip, the prompts you half-write, the moments you sit and think, all of it shows up in a live demo. Going to find out what my actual workflow looks like. Recap to follow.

Turns out the thing that matters most when building with AI isn't what everyone says it is.

Very impressed with Composer 2.5 after about a day of usage. I've almost moved over to it exclusively from GPT 5.5, even using it for planning now. It's like Opus 4.7 on steroids, crazy fast. Fast models really get me into the flow of building, which is exhilarating. Also, a sneak peek of a weekend mini-project I'm building: a racing game where you race your mouse cursor.

Most of my week is split between building and talking to people. Both matter. But the talking is where the shifts happen. Had one of those last week. A mentor I trust, the kind of person who's been through this a few times and sees the shape of it before I do. Lost sleep over it after. The conversation was about clarity. How well the team actually knows what to prioritize, how confident I am that we're spending time on the things that move the business, how much of that is real vs how much I'm assuming. Spent the weekend rebuilding how we're running priorities this week. New tooling, new rhythm, clearer signal on what each person's working on and why. By Sunday night I was grateful the conversation happened, even though it cost me a Saturday. The thing nobody tells you about running a company is that the dashboard never tells you the real story. It tells you what's happening. People tell you why. And until you understand the why, you can't actually make a decision worth making. That conversation gave me the why. The weekend gave me the how. Better Monday because of both.

How many tokens can you afford to burn before you find the right answer? Feels like that's the actual ceiling right now.

@Veyric404 @ericzakariasson Same thing could happen to a dev that doesn't commit and push and their laptop goes to shit. It's totally on me. But a lesson for all on worktrees even with setups to ensure it doesnt happen. Hooks for auto commit is coming.

@codingcoop @ericzakariasson Losing 2 days of work is painful enough. Losing $600 of compute on top of it is criminal. Auto commits should be on by default. This is on Cursor.

@ericzakariasson Unfortunately my worktree went on for 2 days, ~600USD into a fat infra refactor, and for some reason, it did not commit locally, nor remotely (my bad) and cursor (last stable v3) wiped all worktrees on my machine. Havent felt so much pain. Auto commits here I come.

Thank God, I was making some optimizations with codex, and it stashed before making a worktree! Claude code was able to find and recover. GPT 5.5 In cursor couldn't crack it. Ah man I was sweating.

There's a strange divide forming between engineers right now. One group is leaning into AI hard. The other isn't, some by choice, some by circumstance. Layoffs are hitting the second group disproportionately, and AI is being framed as the reason. Honestly sad to watch. Most of the engineers who haven't leaned in yet would be incredible at building with these tools. The door's open. I just wish more were walking through it.

Had the whole team spend last week building stuff on Nullshot instead of working on it. Genuinely glad we made the time. The bugs you find using your own product are different to the ones users report. Users tell you what's stopping them. The team noticed what was annoying them. Going to keep doing this.

@codingcoop Thats also a good approach. Would you call yourself a system builder?

Day 2 building in public. Not a developer at all. Just vibecoded BRNDLY until it felt right. One night I was like “what if I did not have to send brand manual PDFs anymore?” Tried it the next morning and it worked. idk shit about coding but wanted to solve a problem.

@codingcoop exactly, did you also build something from your own annoyance?

Still feel weird every time I post one of these. Documenting the @Nullshot_ai journey properly though. The messy bits as well as the wins. Follow along if you want.

Anthropic now makes it clear, Claude Code cannot be used via the Agent SDK anymore. The squeeze is real. I get it, it's business. But damn.
