I mean he's still a funny character (one of the funniest comic book characters actually) but in that dry english wit kind of way

it's really funny Alfred was originally a comic relief character and then his role shifted into being there every issue to be like "Master Bruce, please stop getting yourself killed i'm gonna have a heart attack."
