@constans True and that person seems dumb, but TBF, historically the Federal student aid program has given bizarrely incomprehensible descriptions of its loans and the different payment programs. Including quite misleading ones, especially regarding loan forgiveness.

Paying less than $250/month on a 50k loan with 6% interest will do that
I didn’t pay much attention to what the terms of my loans were, exactly, other than knowing they were 10 year loans, but I looked each month & saw the principal was falling, so I knew I was making progress

But now I’m even more irritated because what’s she complaining about? She made minimum interest-only payments and got them discharged. Such a deal!

@constans The worst part, the worst of it all, is that she’s getting it all forgiven.
She got a loan, at a below-market interest rate, made tiny payments that didn’t even cover the interest, and now she got it forgiven!! And she’s complaining and calling it a scam!!

Voters haven’t cared about state capacity for many years, but we’ve now entered an era where they also don’t care about corruption.
If voters (understandably) are prioritizing social issues, we need to shift government to do less and issue fewer contracts.

there are a couple true geniuses out there but people who know a lot of math spent a lot of time on it and built those brain connections
