Previously, cervical screening tested for abnormal cells first. The test now first looks for high-risk human papilloma virus (HPV) which causes virtually all (99.7%) cases of cervical cancers. So, if someone’s sample comes back showing they don’t have high-risk HPV, they are at a very low risk of developing cervical cancer in the next five years.   Evidence showed that a gap of five years with HPV primary testing gave more protection against cervical cancer than screening every three years with the previous way of testing, and was as effective as HPV primary testing every three years.  This is why the National Screening Committee have recommended this change, and projected that it will detect more women with cervical cell changes and save more lives.

it's a common experience for tax credit or UC claimants. The DWP decide out of nowhere they have miscalculated and send you a demand letter. The miscalculations only ever go one way though. We are never owed money. They have never paid us too little. I work full time for the

The DWP have decided they have overpaid me close to one thousand pounds. I have never once given them inaccurate information, it is their miscalculation. Yet I must pay it. I do not have a thousand pounds lying around. No one who claims benefits does. I'm posting this because

@CherylP54918090 The difference between us and later cohorts is that they are aware of rising SPA and have Auto-enrolment to save for occupational pensions neither of which we had.

A £5 iced latte a day is £35 a week, £150 a month, £1825 a year. After 10 years.. that’s £18250! Which is still not enough to put a deposit on a house so enjoy your frappé in peace x

Nothing really drives home the reality of coming from a family with no generational wealth than going through end-of-life finances after one of your parents die. I've never been able to rely on my parents for financial support beyond the basics, and I'm feeling that even more now

@katimcf @InternetnurseRN Did you have one in the end? I worried the same, with me and my daughter. I tried really hard to do well. Because it measures such minute movements it can tell if the results are off so you shouldn’t have to worry about doing too well or being perceived as faking
