Library staff will take a break on Bank Holiday Monday, 25 August. You can still access the resources and help you need via our website. Kings Norton Library will remain open. Barrington Library will be closed but alternative study space will be available in the Hobson Library.

@cranfieldlib I remember the Cranfield bookshop in Central Milton Keynes. Any idea when that was. I'm guessing late 1970s / early 1980s.

This picture from our Archive, taken in 1967, shows a view of the parade of shops on Central Avenue before the tennis courts were built. There was a grocer's shop where the Research Students Corner is now sited. #ThrowbackThursday #CranfieldPhotoArchive

@Brabazon2 The first bookshop was the University bookshop and run commercially by the Library! There was another branch in central Milton Keynes, where Waterstones is now. When it closed, the vacant building at Cranfield was then let to an independent bookseller to keep the trade going.
