This is gonna be a long one: I remember getting Destiny 1 and legit putting it on my PS4 rather than the floor because "thats what it deserved" I knew I was about to experience peak beyond my wildest imagination and I did. It became my game for a third of my life and heres why

No DLC, no patch, no security, stupidly expensive for 16 and 14 year old games. Genuinely no reason to buy it. What a scam.

@JakeSucky It's still too early to say that even when Sony themselves said they were preparing for next gen with long term investments. If D3 is green lit, earliest will be Sony's mid FY2027.

Factually, you cannot tell me Destiny 2 didn’t make enough money to fully fund Destiny 3 and Marathon. Destiny 2 has reportedly generated 1.5B over 9 years. With it costing about 150-200M a year to keep the game running, and about an estimated 500M+ to make Destiny 3 (without reused assets). Had they ended the game with FS and the MoT update we just received, I can almost guarantee we wouldn’t be in this situation where the game was loosing more money then it was making. Revenge plot or not, someone somewhere doesn’t want D3 to happen. It would take an estimated 1,200-1,500 devs to make D3, and with the company being rumored to have mentioned laying off 50% (amongst other percentages) of its employees, it’s looking bleak. All in all greed killed this franchise, and it’s honestly not in the odds it’ll ever recover. At least not for a very long time.
