Just escaped #BurningMan2023. As an actual refugee from #Romania I did not need to perform suffering. Leaving was not the problem. The huge rivers that formed on the way out was crazy. Thank God for a 4x4 car.

I once made a client (not publishing though, not sure how it works there) change this in my contract (and in how they added me to their system) but I shouldn't have had to.

Dear Publishers: Paying an author through an e-payment system is fine. Deducting fees for said system from the author's money is not. If, by the contract, I was supposed to get $500 but I only get $475 because of fees ... I did not get paid my contracted fee.

Providing accurate information is one aspect of good reporting. But especially around elections, good journalism MUST provide context and connect experts and explainers to their audiences.
