The Informed Patients Project
Patients deserve more than a cursory appointment. Jeanette knows that getting the most out of her care means coming prepared. When a new treatment is publicized on TV, it gives her something to bring to her doctor. A name. A question. Her part of the conversation. That's the kind of partnership better care is built on - and it starts with protecting access to information.

It's easy to dismiss ads when you don't have skin in the game. For a patient like Tina? She wants to see more. Not because drug ads are perfect - but because for someone navigating a new diagnosis, an ad can spark a conversation they didn't know how to start. It can introduce a doctor's visit, an option, a possibility they hadn't considered. That's the breath of fresh air patients deserve.

🚨 BREAKING: Incredible moment as Artemis II pilot Victor Glover shares the Gospel mere MOMENTS before reaching the back side of the Moon, losing communication with Earth "Christ said, in response to what was the greatest command, that it was to love God with all that you are." 🙏🏻 "And he also, being a great teacher, said the second is equal to it, and that is to love your neighbor as yourself." "And so, as we prepare to go out of radio communication, we're still going to feel your love from Earth, and to all of you down there on earth and around earth, we love you from the moon." ❤️

Watch as Gene Simmons calls America the promised land and says he's never had a bad day in his life since moving to America. @genesimmons It's a beautiful and moving interview. His love for his Mother and our great land, America, is immense. ❤️🇺🇸

@Sachinettiyil There is no proof the Church of the Holy Sepulcher was built on Jesus' actual tomb as it was built in AD 324. There is no evidence outside the Gospels Jesus was ever buried in a tomb and as a disgraced criminal the Romans would have dumped him in a mass grave.

Karl Marx's body is in his grave, London. Nietzsche's body is in his grave, Lützen Muhammad's body is in his grave, Medina Buddha's body is in his grave, Pingliang But, if you travel to Christ's grave in Jerusalem, it's empty, & has been for 2,000 years.

Truly incredible stuff here. This is such an egregious error for the A section of the NYT (not a typo, genuinely not knowing what NATO stands for) that it should lead every piece on the decline in journalism
Sasha Issenberg@sissenberg

Does the @nytimes know what NATO stands for?

It’s not retarded to ask what you are hoping to accomplish? By silencing the ability to promote a FDA approved medication that is already required to meet strict standards about how it can be described? Even then, people can’t just buy it, you just have data to bring to your licensed physician. If Washington says we the people can’t be trusted with even knowing about it, what happens when Washington doesn’t think we can be trusted to know about other legal products like gas powered vehicles, soda, or a Mel Gibson movie? You think that they won’t? Remember how the government silenced voices during COVID if they said uncomfortable things? But for people who don’t read medical journals or have a doctor who has more than 6 minutes to talk, but their lives would change if they knew enough to ask about treating their IBS or a new chemo to help their wife battling breast cancer to live just a few years more. I would want you and everyone to have this unique American freedom to know about it.

.@CZ’s story says it all: diagnosed with MS when there were no treatments, he saw firsthand how drug ads helped inform him and his doctor about new options that changed his life. That’s the real impact of DTC ads. They empower patients with information, spark conversations, and help people take charge of their health.

Car companies, law firms, auto insurance, funded cable tv with their ads during Covid, too. So ban them as well. Or just ads that make you uncomfortable? Maybe we don’t. Maybe I agree with you that drug ads are annoying and make me uncomfortable. But if someone lives better, then is the mute button too hard to push?

@CZ @Policy_Solution Were you asleep during Covid? Drug companies financed the news media through ads and as such the news media failed to question the vaccine.

NEW: Microsoft is under FTC investigation as fresh scrutiny builds around its cloud and AI dominance. But that’s only part of the story. The company also faces serious questions over its China ties, anti-conservative bias, and deep entrenchment in the federal government.

Reporting about Medicaid “cuts” is fake news, devoid of context. 1. Medicaid spending ballooned during the Biden administration. 2. Federal spending after OBBB reforms will still leave spending above the pre-Biden baseline. 3. Medicaid spending exploded because of ineligible enrollees and a surge of state financing scams to deliver corporate welfare to big hospital systems and insurers. 4. In many states, Medicaid is now a much better payer than Medicare. 5. Medicaid used to be a 60-40 federal-state cost shift. At tail end of Biden administration, it was nearly 75-25.

400 hospitals at risk because of Medicaid cuts. Source: a progressive watchdog group. Here’s what NBC left out: these hospitals pay retail on every insurance line. Malpractice. Property. Workers’ comp. Benefits. Marine. Med Mal. Each one negotiating alone against carriers who pocket the float, keep the surplus, and raise rates at renewal. The Medicaid cut didn’t create this problem. Isolation did. Aggregate 400 hospitals into a collective. Self-fund the captive lines. Redirect the float back to the institutions generating it. Operating costs drop 25 to 30 percent before Washington does anything. The hospitals don’t need a bailout. They need to stop being easy marks.

If a hospital is serving patients sugary drinks, they are out of compliance with government standards and are putting their reimbursements in jeopardy. If you see patients being served sugary drinks, please post information below or let CMS know: cms.gov/medical-bill-r…

This story lacks really important context. Here are 5 key facts missing: 1. 4.
