OP97 Spanish FLES

Its been a couple of snowy days in D97 but we have been having fun and learning in our Spanish classes!

Oak Park D97 FLES teachers attended The 2018 ACTFL Annual Convention and World Language Expo in New Orleans this week. Anna Nieto and Silvia Zaragoza presented a session to other language educators around the country on classroom management. #ACTFL18 #d97Spanish

#OakPark97 Elementary schools participated in different activities as they learned about the Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead). A tradition that celebrates and honors the life of family and friends that have passed away.

#OakPark97 students participating in a Monarch Symbolic Migration to Mexico. We sent them to Mexico for the winter and will track their migration. They are making cultural connections and building bridges of communication between Mexico and the USA.

Oak Park Elementary schools celebrated Hispanic Heritage during a week long celebration filled with activities, music, reading, sharing, and learning!
