@OttomanFX @Markos_mom Yeah essentially it’s only tax free if HMRC deem your trading as gambling. I have always personally always paid tax on profits from spread betting. I think the main reason for this might be because I got tax audited after I did my first ever self assessment.

Being a prop trader in the UK is awesome because if you're successful enough, once you factor in the exchange rate and tax, your effective payout rate is about 35% which means you can tell people you basically trade for a hedge fund
