The @rockhall Foundation have announced Iron Maiden as one of its inductees for 2026. Quote from Rod Smallwood on behalf of Iron Maiden: “We’d like to thank the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for including us (and former members who were all part of our story) in the 2026 roll call of inductees. Iron Maiden have always been about our relationship with our fans above anything else, including awards and industry accolades. However, having said that, it’s always nice to be recognised and honoured for any achievements within the music industry too! It also seems appropriate for the band to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year as we continue our 50th anniversary celebrations with our Run For Your Lives World Tour visiting the Americas and beyond. Congratulations to Billy Idol & Phil Collins for their induction into this year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (Class of 2026) Other inductees include Oasis, Iron Maiden, Sade, Wu-Tang Clan, Joy Division/New Order, and Luther Vandross.

The A's organization is saddened by the passing of Davey Lopes. The baseball lifer was a four-time All-Star and played 16 seasons in the big leagues, including three in Oakland. Davey dedicated his life to the game of baseball and his impact on the game will never be forgotten.

Last night on the plane coming back from Brazil there was a @prince concert from Purple Rain on the seat back. It had been restored for 40th anniversary so I watched it. The talent the guy had was truly ridiculous. He was literally great at everything. And I’ve never seen anyone move like that on stage non stop. I always said I wished he made a full on rock album. His guitar playing was just insane too. In today’s pop world where you have 12 writers for one song and half the “live” show is on tape, Prince was the REAL deal on every level, and so beyond much of the stuff in that genre today in every way. Truly amazing.
