Male refugees from Afghanistan and Syria in Germany show a keen interest in forming relationships with local women, but the local women show little interest in forming relationships with them. Germany, in particular, received over 1,4 million refugees between 2014 and 2016, predominantly from Muslim-majority countries such as Syria and Afghanistan. The majority of these arrivals consisted of young, single men within prime marriageable age brackets. This study examines partnership preferences of male refugees from Afghanistan and Syria who arrived in Germany between 2014 and 2016 and female residents of similar age. Overall, our results indicate a high level of openness among male refugees towards partnering with female members of the resident population, but a comparatively low level of openness among the latter towards partnering with recently arrived male refugees. This implies a substantial incongruence in partnership preferences among the two groups. Regarding the educational level of a potential partner, we found that all respondents prefer highly educated partners over those with lower levels of education. This suggests that, for refugees, securing a highly educated partner might serve as a means of upward social mobility and integration into higher-status networks in the host society. Furthermore, it is possible that highly educated women, due to their greater exposure to diverse social environments and potentially less discriminatory attitudes, are perceived as more open to intergroup partnerships, making them a more attractive choice for refugees seeking acceptance and social integration. On the other hand, the reluctance of resident women to accept partnerships with refugees is largely explained by their rejection of the ‘imported’ religious Islam. It is possible that resident women perceive the religious practices of newly arrived refugees as different from their own, reinforcing a social distance that limits intergroup partnerships. Moreover, this reluctance might not only reflect religious differences but also concerns about gender norms or perceived lifestyle incompatibilities.

Royal Holloway student Brodie Mitchell was confronted by Huda El-Jamal, President of the Friends of Palestine Society, who called him a “wannabe Jew” and questioned why he wasn’t wearing a kippah. Brodie — who describes himself as a “non-Jewish Zionist” — responded by asking why she was wearing a “tea towel” on her head, referring to her keffiyeh. Within 24 hours, Brodie was suspended from campus for nine weeks, locked out of campus, and told to vacate his accommodation. His comment was branded “offensive”, “Islamophobic” and “anti-Palestinian”. He even had to request permission to give his side of the story — against the backdrop of the Government’s new “anti-Muslim hostility” definition. Meanwhile, Ms El-Jamal faced no disciplinary action. This is two-tier policing of speech on campus. The Free Speech Union is supporting Brodie and has lodged a complaint with the Office for Students. He is now back on campus, but under severe restrictions on who he can speak to and what he can say — with expulsion threatened for even minor breaches. He has also received death threats and faced harassment from fellow students. The university is now spending what his barrister calls a “grossly disproportionate and unreasonable” sum in an apparent attempt to force him out of litigation. We are challenging these restrictions and urging the OfS to investigate. Brodie’s case will be heard over three days in the High Court in June, where he will say that he has unfairly been deprived of seven weeks of study time. We have also put the Government on notice of potential judicial review over its “anti-Muslim hostility” definition if they don’t immediately withdraw it and its associated guidance. There continues to be an immense amount of fake news circulating around Restore Britain’s principles of immigration. Here is our position. Read it, and let me know if you agree… Step one. Remove the illegal migrant population. Two million? Three million? Even more? Doesn’t matter. They will all be detained, and they will all be deported. We will of course start with the third world invaders and foreign criminals - this is a day one priority. A Restore Britain Government would launch the largest deportation scheme in British history - we have the plan, we’ve already published the most comprehensive deportation scheme ever released. 100+ pages of it. We know how to do it. Now we are seeking the power to implement it. The illegals are the priority. Foreign criminals go too, but that doesn’t even need discussing anymore. They’re out the door on the first flight home. What happens to them in their own country is not our problem. Step two. Legal migrants who can’t speak English, refuse to work, claim benefits, live in social housing, hate our way of life or even actively want to do us harm? They go too - hopefully voluntarily. If not, they will be removed. Dual nationals who want to kill us? Strip them off their British citizenship and send them back. Foreign Islamists, gone. Dual national Islamists, gone. If foreigners want to live in an Islamic country, we will make that a reality for them. This would all be twinned with drastic reductions of the number of people settling in the country, and I mean drastic. It will be in the thousands, not the hundreds of thousands. Who can come? Ultra high-skilled migrants to fill gaps, and spouses of British men and women. We would ease that process, allowing Brits to bring their husband/wives into our country without the endless bureaucracy, red tape and cost - allowing them to build a family. That is positive immigration. We will encourage it. All done alongside our Red List. If a country is proven to supply us with sex pests, rapists, criminals and illegals? We will shut off entire visa routes. We will discriminate based on the evidence. Afghanistan would be top of that list. Those Afghans who came following the data breach would be removed and relocated. All of them. The asylum system would be abolished in its entirety. ILR would be scrapped. Benefits for foreign nationals would be cancelled. Social housing currently filled with foreigners would be freed for British families. The whole immigration scam would finally end. When a visa ends, that individual will be expected to leave Britain - that principle will be enforced for the first time in decades. And here’s a mad idea. Our aim would be to train the millions of healthy Brits on benefits to do these jobs. This is just so painfully obvious. If they don’t like it, they lose their universal credit. Simple. None of this is complicated. It just takes balls. The number of people living in Britain would radically reduce - millions would go during the first five years of a Restore Britain Government. Millions. Our immigration system would put one group of people at the top of the agenda. The British people. If you want all of this - vote for it. Join Restore Britain, support Restore Britain. Put us in power, and we will get it done. I promise you that.

Utterly appalling. This has left me speechless. This young Swedish girl is called Meya Åberg. She was 16 and was walking home after missing the bus. She was in a pedestrian tunnel when she encountered Yazied Mohamed, an 18 year old Eritrean refugee. He raped her. She reported it immediately. He was found guilty and sentenced to three years in prison. You would have thought that he would be deported afterwards. But no, the Swedish court ruled that although the crime was serious “the duration of the attack” was not long enough to warrant deportation. Yes, you heard that correctly. She was not raped for long enough. So Mohamed remains in Sweden.
