Just one-shotted this design with @stitchbygoogle. You’re not ready for this level of design.

It's true. The last month (in particular the last week/two) have put me into this weird state of mind. It's exciting because we know we're super early, and once you see how all of the pieces will fit together going forward, you see opportunity in some way/shape/form, and you want to build and be a part of it.

Every ambitious person I know who works deeply with AI is working harder & longer than ever for 2 reasons: 1. Ambitious people have lots of ideas. AI has finally caught up to our imaginations. 2. Dopamine boost through instant feedback.

My comment is comical because people who use AI don't give a shit if people don't use AI.

I've never built something so insane before (and this is only a taste) Claude Agent SDK Demo with an AI Virtual Pool Trainer.

How complex of a project are you talking about? I rebuilt designcourse.com from scratch essentially with AI (Cursor, and then CC) over 2 months, working every day. 4 separate services (admin/frontend/members/api), fully featured AI-integrated admin area with chat that can do things like manage members, courses, etc.. A custom live chat solution, an entire course system, a challenge system, order system, invoice, etc etc.. And it's doing just fine.

AI is now really good at shipping MVP (solve real user problems, fully functional, can be quite complicated as well). Where AI still struggling big time is iterating & fixing bugs. AI doesn’t have the same memory as a human engineer / team does. It forgets its own code and needs to start from scratch again & again. This works at small scale but as the codebase grows, it becomes harder & harder for the AI to fully understand & keep track of what to account when adding new features / making changes. It eventually becomes impossible for the AI to avoid / fix its own bugs. And since everything was written entirely by AI from the beginning, we are no better than the AI at understanding that codebase. It becomes a dead end. This means, to truly embrace vibe coding, you need a solution for the AI to either remember or figure out how its new changes may impact the existing functionality and how to fix them without breaking other parts. Maybe AI memory becomes so good that it solves this on its own. Maybe it’s better dev tools for AI. For now, I find unit tests + integration tests are the best way to let AI test & fix its own changes.

In the world of low IQ AI haters, apparently building literally *anything* with AI is slop.

Stop telling new designers to skip Figma. It’s still the industry standard. That advice will cost someone a job.

@robertoblake If we reach ASI and the issue of scarcity is solved, he's right. ASI being reached is hard to predict.

This is a distant future ar best. I don’t bet against him when he has control over an outcome… But here he’s misunderstanding human nature. We will NOT be adopting this in our lifetime.

I'm building a super intelligent AI agent that coaches me in Pool. I call him Earl Strickland (Pool legend). I trained him on Earl's voice. He controls 2 projectors, 22 DMX lighting fixtures in my studio (can create light shows), has pool intelligence, can keep score automatically, and communicates with me in real time. It is fucking nuts. I'll show you all a demo soon.

@pakerte @stevemarkperry @photomatt Dude, you don't want a "close" wordpress alternative. Wordpress represents the old way of doing things. You can literally make your own tailored CMS with Claude Code in a freaking day.

Hey, @photomatt assuming this is you (apologies if not). Please consider that we are still undoing the damaged trust that was caused last time this happened. We deal with the fallout, trying to protect WordPress' reputation with our clients. And this doesn't help us at all. If clients stop asking for WordPress, we'll just use something else. I, for one, am sick of the WordPress drama. As I'm sure are many others.
