@ShadowofHawk55 @HashionDiscord I think you have to consider the life quality of the average T'au. Even allied races, while treated as second class citizens, still live far better than most imperials, even if you don't count hive worlds

@dingaling202 @HashionDiscord They are just as evil, they just do shit on a smaller scale and have a better PR department. If they operated on the Imperium's scale they'd be doing the exact same shit just with Mecha instead of Space Marines.

They are extremely calculating and just ally with people to save costs. They run an entire war with human meat shields while barely ever appearing on the battlefield themselves

@HashionDiscord I love it when Tau fans do this “The Tau aren’t evil, they’re good guys!” My dudes, have you actually sat down and read a tau book? Elemental Council, Empire of Lies, Shadowbreaker (technically Deathwatch but a lot of Tau POV) They’re just as evil as the IoM.

Had a conversation with Mitch about how lucky it is for creators to be very passionate about things/subgenres that also happen to have a thriving fanbase. One of the things with the Futuristic Ancient Greek "Mars Burns Bright" setting is I like "real robot" mech stuff. But a lot of my fans and other potentially interested people don't, to the point of clearly losing interest the second I said the word "mech". But they and I both like tanks and infantry, so it wasn't difficult to segway into developing & showing off those elements more. I'd be quite unlucky if I only really liked mechs, and so I'm thankful that I ended up having other related interests that could appeal to the same people. Sneaky? Maybe. But I don't feel too bad as I get to keep the mechs and perhaps convince people to give them a shot, like the Imperial Knights of Warhammer 40k.
