@Alien_Theory They should 100% bring back this technique for the creature in the new film. It would be perfected now. The elegant movements in those bts clips show how amazing and 'alien' it would look on screen.

To this day, many viewers still mistake the alien in Alien 3 as being an example of “early CGI” but the effects were in fact achieved through use of a rod puppet and advanced photochemical technology. Here VFX supervisor Richard Edlund speaks about puppeteering the alien.

@aliensexpanded Yes. A new film should use these scenes and moments as anchor points, and branch out from them. Nothing too 'sci-fi' or far-fetched.

Reposting this because I'm actually super fucking proud of it. After a month of posting old Alien art, I drew a new one based on a design I didn't think I liked, and you know what...? I think it might actually be my favourite Alien drawing to date.
