🧵How Christians misunderstand The Epistle to the Hebrews: 1. Many Christian interpreters lean heavily on Hebrews 8:13: “In speaking of a new covenant, He makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.” And from this, they infer a total abolition of the Temple, priesthood, and Torah-based sacrificial system as if these things had no continuing theological meaning in God’s economy post-resurrection. But that misunderstands the author’s nuanced argument. Hebrews isn’t declaring the Temple system inherently defective, but limited in scope, time, and purpose — awaiting its Messianic fulfillment and eschatological completion.

It is not anti-semitic to say it. It is not divisive. It is a profession of faith given by our God-given, constitutionally enshrined rights. Christ is King.
