We spent four seasons watching The Boys fighting the status quo only for everything to revert to pre-Homelander status quo. Vought still exists and has a monopoly on Compound V. You can disagree with Butcher's method, but he was right that the Boys didn't win.

You know what’s crazy? People are ignoring the ending. Hughie and Annie, considered heroes and are free to live their lives, and they even have a baby on the way. Kimiko, who was tortured for years in a cage and then treated like a criminal, is now finally enjoying herself freely in France. Marvin got his family back without anyone chasing him, plus Ryan is now with him. the grandson of the man who destroyed MM’s childhood and shaped his entire trauma Then there’s Butcher who lost himself long before he died, that Dog was the only thing that brought out his humanity since S3 Vought no longer holds the same level of power over the world Calling all of this “trash” just because Homelander didn’t level cities or massacre thousands of people is crazy

s1 [8/10] was actually smart satire w great characterwork
s3 [8/10] started getting stupid but incredibly entertaining season
s2 [7/10] some very high highs
s5 [5/10] started strong and then meandered for ages before a somewhat good finale. meh.
s4 [3/10] one good episode.
