@BanannaSlamma64 @bakujok3s What I find interesting is that in the episode with guns, where Jax is sitting in the hallway waiting for Pomni to do her thing, we see his reactions to BOTH doors. He sees Kaufmo and looks away immediately showing bitterness and anger, and with Ribbit he's just... dissociated?

@Inhundefender For people like Ragatha, that kind of kindness is like a compulsion because they learned that being nice and accommodating made their caregivers treat them better (AKA the abuse was less severe), and that showing less "desirable" feelings made them get treated worse.

@Inhundefender I'd like to add that I think it's more than her not wanting to become her mother; it's REALLY common for people to become people-pleasers when their caregiver is emotionally immature & abusive. They learn, "If people around me are upset, it's my fault for not being better."

Jax became distant with Ragatha when he realized her extreme positiveness/comfort wasnt special for him.
He thought she wasn't being sincere when in reality it was just Ragatha trying to comfort everyone as a coping mechanism to escape the thought of becoming like her mother.🧵

One abuse and manipulation topic I don't see talked about very much is about the abusers that DO make good apologies. It looks just like a real apology; they take accountability for that they did, name the harm, and say they won't do it again. But... 1/5

@thelifeofrayyy Hey, so I don't know you or your situation, but... If this person doesn't make any real, *lasting* changes that lead to them stopping from harming you, that's not true accountability.
Apologies without actions are hollow. Pay attention to how they change (or don't) weeks after.

Tonight I was hit in the head & face till I was unconscious and unresponsive on the ground by someone very close to me. When I hit the floor they thought I may have been dead. When I came to consciousness they profusely apologized & took accountability. (1.)

No I was a pharmacy technician and the pharmacists really did feel like everybody with ADHD was an addict it's wild in retrospect. They would regularly lie about not having scripts in stock and find all types of ways to delay them

One of the reasons people don't recognize ADHD as a disability is that they see ADHD struggles (with things like organisation, tidyness, timeliness, communication etc) as personal failings. That is ableism.

I really miss people respecting each other's time and space. Before cell phones became widely used, people didn't expect constant or immediate communication. We were allowed to work and have lives, and get back to people when we had free time or felt like talking. Now they say "eVeRyOnE hAs A pHoNe On ThEm, iT tAkEs 5 sEcOnDs To RePLy"
Okay well maybe I'm not in the mood to be on my phone? Maybe I'm doing something that requires total focus? Maybe I like quiet time? Maybe I don't like talking to everybody I know all day? Maybe I need time to process what my reply is gonna be? Maybe my day sucked and I just wanna scroll mindlessly instead of having to engage meaningfully with another human? I hate what it's become. Instant gratification instead of patience.

@veggiequeen420 I check chewy, petco, and petsmart every weekend (+ stack w rakuten who often has 10% back deals) and stock up when I can find a deal, usually by starting a new autoship order that i will cancel. Its incredibly annoying but I do save probably 20% off retail on average

@veggiequeen420 I pay $20 a month for the Petco membership thing which gives you 10% off food across the board*. They also give you $15 a month in rewards, and the rewards expiration window is longer. You also get some vet benefits too. Pays for itself
