Even with free higher education, barriers persist. A new study finds that career guidance using role model videos and info can reduce inequality in university expectations and actual university applications. #EquityEdu #edchat #edpolicy bit.ly/48fBcgX

Det er altså udtryk for en syg form for snobberi at mene at folk med høje uddannelser ikke er en del af det arbejdende Danmark.

@pengzell If I remember correctly, we fielded a survey study in Mannheim about social mobility some 20 years ago that had the same title :-)

Very interesting study from SOFI's @annahsandberg et al: PhD students are at a significantly higher risk of mental health issues compared to their peers with master's degrees. 🧵 #MentalHealth #AcademicTwitter #PhDlife
Erik Mohlin@karlerikmohlin

Pretty strong evidence of negative mental health effects of doing a PhD. Recent working paper by @EvaRanehill, @annahsandberg, Sanna Bergvall, and Clara Fernström. Paper link: swopec.hhs.se/lunewp/abs/lun…

Such an honor! For a recap of the article’s highlights, see x.com/saidajhassan/s… Also: I realize it shouldn’t be a thing. But I am very happy to see this honor given to a null finding. A super informative one, but a null nonetheless. You help set the tone, @ESR_news, thanks!

Our congratulations to @SaidAJHassan @C_Hvidtfeldt @L_H_Andersen & @RebeccaUdsen for winning the ECSR-ESR Best Article Prize 2024 with manuscript: Do refugee children impair the academic performance of native students? Read the award winning article here: doi.org/10.1093/esr/jc…

In German we have the term "altersmilde" - indicating that people become more relaxed/mild with age. I noticed that I have developed the opposite tendency when it comes to reviewing papers - 20 years in. I reject papers much more often than I used to. What about you?
