Teacher quality should be evaluated based on assessment, instructional methods, and student learning. Evaluating by extracurricular participation demeans the profession.

I worked with teachers like this. Gone at 3:01 pm every day.Always looking for shortcuts to avoid doing anything extra. Usually miserable everyday too. Complained about everything. Extracurricular is part of teaching. If you want to leave 3:01 pm, find something else.
